It was previously announced pre-COVID, to institute a Basic EMT tuition for classes.  Since COVID, it was recognized for the need of EMS providers.  It was decided here at Faxton-St. Luke’s Healthcare EMS Education to not charge a tuition for the Basic EMT program for those students who belong to a(n) EMS/Fire Department.  This education department will continue to voucher New York State for the students Basic EMT program.  Tuition still will apply for the student who does not belong to an EMS/Fire department.  The tuition for a non-affiliated student remains at $700.00.

Let’s take a moment to give a round of applause to the MVHS Stroke Program who achieved Comprehensive Stroke Designation effective 8/4/2021. As many of you may know, Program Agency Director Melissa Lockwood has left Midstate EMS for a position with the New York State DOH Bureau of EMS. We wish her the best of luck with her new position. Today, Matthew Yelton has accepted the new role as Program Agency Director for the region. Matt has worked in EMS for over ten years both on the ground and in the air and has been a dedicated provider to the Midstate Region. We would like to welcome him aboard and are excited to see what his vast experience has to offer. Matt will be transitioning from his current position at Mercy Flight Central to Midstate EMS over the next few weeks, and expect him to begin in early August.

If you are interested in becoming an American Heart Association CPR Instructor, we are holding an Instructor Training Program on Sunday August 1^st at 9:00 AM.  The cost of the program is $150.00.
