The REMSCO Midstate Banquet Committee has this years Banquet will be Friday evening May 26, at Harts Hill Inn, New York Mills. 2017 ticket prices will remain the same as last year at $20 each, again this year reserved tables will not be available Tickets will be available on Monday May 1 at Resource (St. Luke’s Emergency Dept.) or the EMS Program Agency.
The North Chittenango Fire Dept. will host “EMS and Sports Injuriesâ€
Dr. Dan DiChristina will discuss injuries assessments and treatment for common sport injuries. The Wednesday May 31 program will start at 7PM at the Fire Station – 1699 Fyler Rd. Chittenango. Contact Jane DeForest 315 243 6071 for additional details
The EMS Memorial Service is being held Tuesday May 23, 2017 during EMS Week. The EMS Community will come together and honor EMS providers who have died while in the line of duty, sadly we will be adding three new names to the memorial, Stephanie Potter-Moira Volunteer Fire and Rescue, Norman Valle-FDNY EMS and Larry Fuller-Hunter Ambulance. It is fitting that we take time to acknowledge and remember our brothers and sisters who made the ultimate sacrifice in the service of others as EMS providers. The Ceremony will be held at the Empire State Plaza from 1100 – 1200.
I would like to personally invite you to join us in remembering all of the individuals who have been lost and take part in the memorial service by displaying an agency vehicle; we have reserved a special area for you to park on the Empire State Plaza near the memorial. If you plan on attending you will need to be cleared for security, please contact Donna Johnson, preferably by email at donna.johnson@health.ny.gov or at 518-402-1612, no later than May 16, 2017.
New York State and the Midstate Region will celebrate EMS Week May 21-27, 2017. We will conclude the week with a recognition banquet at Harts Hill on Friday May 26. Midstate Region and the New York State Department of Health, Bureau of Emergency Medical Services, recognizes agencies and providers from the region for exceptional care. This recognition can come from anyone that recognizes this exceptional care. If you would like to nominate someone for any of the awards, (Provider, Agency, Physician, Instructor, Youth, Leader, RN, Communications) please send the nomination form located at the top of this page EMS AWARDS to REMSCO@midstateems .org no later than April 15th, 2017.
The St. Elizabeth Trauma Service will present “Pre Hospital Trauma Pain Management†This presentation will be hosted at the Midstate EMS Offices 14 Foery Drive on Wednesday April 5 at 7PM.
