Critical Care and Paramedic Rapid Recert

You can now sign up for the Rapid Recert for the June 2015 testing for Critical Care or Paramedic levels only. The deadline for this testing will be April 13, 2015. You will need to send in or drop off DOH Form 4010 no later than April 13, 2015. If you plan on participating in the Rapid Recert will need to attend the 13 hour National Standard BLS updates and have DOH form 5064 filled out by the teaching CIC and bring this with you to the PSE. You will also need a copy of your NIMS 100 (200 for Paramedic) and 700 and HAZMAT Awareness or a Fire Fighter 1 Certificates. The PSE will be on Saturday, June 13, 8:30AM and the written exam will be on June 18, 2015, 6:30PM.

Paramedic John Nagy Funeral Arrangements Final

Subject: Funeral Arrangements Final

The Oriskany Falls Volunteer Fire Department, Oriskany Falls Volunteer Ambulance Corps, and MidState EMS announce the funeral arrangements for Paramedic John Nagy. The wake will be held at Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 210 E Main St, Waterville, NY, Tuesday, February 10th from 4-7pm. The EMS services will take place at 6pm and is open to all fire and EMS agencies. This will be a full dress visitation.  Those attending should gather at the Waterville FD prior to the 1800 service. Those fire departments wishing to be part of the honor guard are asked to contact Chief Steve Dziura at 534-7524.

John’s funeral will take place with full honors on Wednesday, February 11 at 11:00am at St. Bernard’s Roman Catholic Church, 199 Stafford Ave, Waterville, NY. There will be a static display set-up prior to the funeral services. This is open to all departments. Those wishing to participate are asked to contact Captain Dave Glenn of the Whitesboro Fire Department at 534-5048.

Mission Life Line

The New York State Department of Health and The American Heart Association are embarking on a 2-year Mission: Lifeline (M:L) initiative in Utica and Cooperstown. This initiative will address the continuum of care of heart attack patients (specifically STEMI patients) by working with all stakeholders to improve the delivery of care in a timely, coordinated and consistent manner, building upon the great work that has already been conducted in the region.

We invite you to join us for this kick-off meeting to learn more about the project and discuss collaboration opportunities.
