MIDSTATE ANNOUNCEMENT

It is with deep regret that the Schuyler Ambulance Company announces the death of Vice President Michael J. “Doc” Hickey on May 28, 2014. Mike was a 41 year member of Schuyler Volunteer Fire and Ambulance Company, having served in many administrative and line capacities within the department. Additionally, Mike was an active participant in the tri-county Region having served as a charter member of the MidState Regional Emergency Medical Services Council for 17 years in addition to his many years spent educating new providers as a NYS CLI.

Calling hours for Mike will be on Sunday from 4-7 at Heintz Funeral Home on Herkimer Rd in North Utica and full honors funeral services will be held on Monday 6/2/2014. Please check www.SchuylerFireCompany.org frequently as more details will be posted when they become available. Those departments wishing to attend the services should contact Chief Donald Kane at 315-534-3227.

Midstate EMS Banquet

The Midstate EMS Region held it’s annual EMS recognition and appreciation banquet on Friday evening May 23, at Hart’s Hill Inn.  Awards were presented to several providers and agencies for “exrta ordinary care” in 2013.  In addition both Cazenovia and Kuyahoora Ambulances were recognized for 40 years of service.  Below are the 2013 Midstate EMS Region Awards Winners.
