The lecture will review current pre-hospital cardiac care practices, protocols and indications for Primary PCI. Case studies of AMI’s will also be presented which include both typical and atypical patients.  We will also present a new protocol that is starting at St Elizabeth’s in March 2012 on Therapeutic Hypothermia after a resuscitated Cardiac Arrest.  Indications for these patients and what EMS can expect upon arrival to the Medical Center will be discussed as well.  (3 Non Core ALS CME Hours)
