Arrangements for the EMS Line of Duty Death of James Almond

The Yorkville Fire Department is saddened to announce the passing of Captain/Paramedic James Almond. Jim passed away while at work at the Mercy Flight Base in Canandaigua where he currently served as a Flight Nurse. Jim was a consummate professional who touched the lives of countless people in his journeys in the Emergency Service Field. Jim was a member of the Yorkville Fire Department since 2005. Jim also has worked for Kunkel Ambulance and Prospect Ambulance. He was our Brother and he will be dearly missed everyday. Calling Hours are Wednesday November 9th 2011 from 4pm and 8pm at the Dimbleby’s Funeral Home at 40 Main Street in Whitesboro. The Yorkville Fire Department along with all other Emergency Services will meet as a body at 8pm where a prayer service will be conducted by our Company Chaplin. Funeral Services will take place Thursday November 10th 2011 at 11am at the Funeral Home. A procession will then take place at the conclusion of the service from the Funeral Home to the Mount Olivet Cemetery on Wood Road in Whitesboro. Class A Uniforms are asked to be worn at both the Calling Hours and the Funeral Service. Any Fire Department or Ambulance Service wishing to send apparatus for the procession our asked to contact Captain Dave Glenn of the Whitesboro Fire Department at (315) 534-5048. Apparatus is asked to line up on Main Street in Whitesboro starting at the Entrance to the Whitestown Shopping Center Facing Eastbound. Apparatus is asked to be at the foresaid location no later then 1045am.
