Due to Mother Nature’s poor sense of humor the Geriatric Lecture that was scheduled for tonight at Kunkel has been canceled and re-scheduled for March 1, 2011 at 7:00pm at Kunkel.

The Paramedic Class that is held at HCCC from 1:30pm –5:00pm will be held at the Training Center on Sunset Ave. in Utica today from 1:30pm –5:00pm.

Chemical Suicides

This course examines the emerging trend of chemical suicide, with a focus on Hydrogen Sulfide and Hydrogen Cyanide suicides. The intent of the course is to provide first responders in the EMS, law enforcement, and fire communities with the cognitive skills needed to recognize a potential chemical suicide, take appropriate actions to isolate the area, and deal with the ramifications of a hazardous materials incident involving a suicide.

The course will be presented by NYS Office of Fire Prevention and Control and will be held at Maynard Fire Department, 9500 Maynard Dr., Marcy, NY. Class starts at 6:30 PM and will end at approximately 8:30 PM on March 1, 2011. Send any questions or R.S.V.P. to jpearl@maynardfire.org
