Yesterday we received word the DOH has not contracted to print PCR’s. Statewide there are a minimal number available. We will be giving out PCR’s spareingly to ALSFR and Ambulances. BLSFR and BLS Ambulances will be given a photocopy from resource that should be kept with your records. It is important to conserve what we have and give a good report to the transporting ambulance in lieu of the pink copy. We are working with the DOH and will keep you informed.

The Oneida County Health Dept announced today a H1N1 flu POD at the Public Health Clinic building at 406 Elizabeth Street Utica, tommorow Tuesday November 17 from 4:30 to 7:00pm. This is an adult POD and first responders will qualify for the vaccinations.

Midstate mourns the passing of one of our own. Paramedic Mal Lusby passed away today after a brief illness. Mal was well-known for his compassionate patient care as well as his love for mentoring students. Mal was the 2008 winner of the Deb Hart Award and his presence on the EMS scene will be missed. Calling hours will be on Friday Nov. 13^th 4 to 7 at the Smith Funeral Home in Sauquoit. Funeral services will also be at Smith’s on Sat 10:30 .Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends.
