Alternate entrances

Please remember we are not using the ED entrance at 327 for any patient that is a direct admit or discharge from the floors. Only patients going to the ED ,L&D or ICU should be brought into 327 via the ED entrance. Use entrance #6 for Allen Calder Patients and the Professional Office Entrance (under the blue canopy) for main hospital patients.

12 Lead EKG

During theAug 2009 REMAC meeting the physicians decided all 12 lead EKG must be sent to the hospital. The Midstate  12 Lead protocol defines the need to do a 12 Lead. Presently only 326 & 327 can accept these and all 12 Leads should go directly to these facilities. (326 is ems@stemc.org  and 327 is ems_resource@mvnhealth.com ) Please remember to advise the hospital a 12 Lead was sent. For any patient presenting with ST elevation refusing a facility with PCI capability you should do your best to educate that patient. Send the 12 Lead to 327 and Resource will attempt to have the Medical Control Physician speak with the patient. This is a work in progress and the process will change with  experience and any new technology that becomes available to the Region. Expect the Resource operators to ask if a 12 Lead was completed for all cardiac patients. If you have any questions do not hesitate  to ask.
